Victoria Park · ten minutes from the house
Britain's largest independent flower show, four days every August, and a beautiful house with a garden of its own just down the coast road.
Four days in bloom
Warren House is a luxury holiday home for up to fourteen, about ten minutes from Victoria Park. Come as a couple, a car full of gardening friends or all three generations at once: unhurried breakfasts around a table that seats twelve in comfort, a short hop to the showground, and home to your own lawn, patio and hot tub while the show crowds queue for the car parks. Make the show the centrepiece of a proper Southport week.
The lie of the land
Four miles apart along the coast. Close enough to nip back for a forgotten cardigan, far enough that your evenings are all birdsong and hot tub steam.
Show day
Four miles straight up the coast road. Event parking operates near the park on show days, and a taxi from the house is quick and inexpensive.
Driving means room in the boot, which matters by Sunday, when the exhibitors sell off their plants and everyone leaves with an armful.
Ainsdale station is a 20 minute walk from the house, or a quick bus, taxi or car journey; Southport is then under ten minutes up the line, and the showground is a pleasant ten to fifteen minute walk past the Marine Lake.
No parking queues, and the walk along the seafront is part of the day out.
The show is four days; you do not have to do them all at once. Mix show days with the beach, Lord Street's arcades and afternoon tea, and long evenings in your own garden.
One booking, one kitchen, everyone together. That is the whole point of Warren House.
What awaits
Around 50,000 people come to Victoria Park each August for the show gardens, the Grand Floral Marquee and a day that is as much festival as flower show: a cookery theatre with television chefs, gardening celebrities on stage, live music, shopping rows, an amateur growers' competition and children's entertainers to keep the youngest branch of the family happy. The 2026 line-up includes names from Strictly and Gardeners' World, and it changes every year. Whatever your generation gardens for, it is here.
"The house and garden are immaculate. We had our grandchildren with us so we appreciated the secure garden. Great seating for everyone inside and outside so we could eat together in comfort."
Carolyn, May 2026After the show
A day among the borders sharpens the appetite for green space of your own. Warren House sits in private grounds with lawns, mature trees, a patio made for golden-hour drinks and a hot tub for tired feet. Inside, six beautiful bedrooms and a kitchen that makes cooking for the whole clan a pleasure rather than a chore.
