Every April the eyes of the world turn to Aintree for the Randox Grand National Festival: three days of racing, fashion and roaring grandstands. Warren House is the group base: get ready together, travel in together, and toast the winners in your own bar.
The world's most famous race
Warren House is a luxury holiday home for up to fourteen, about 25 minutes from Aintree Racecourse. Bring the whole party to one house instead of scattering across city hotels: race-day breakfasts around a table that seats twelve in comfort, a shared ride or the train to the course, and your own private bar waiting for the winners' debrief. The festival is three days; the house makes it a proper holiday.
The lie of the land
Fourteen miles apart, joined by the coast road and the Merseyrail network. Close enough for an easy race day, far enough that you come home to birdsong, a hot tub and no city-centre surge pricing.
Race day
Around 14 miles via the A565 coast road. Racecourse parking should be pre-booked well ahead for festival days; drop-offs are straightforward.
A private hire car runs about £30 to £40 each way, and a pre-booked minibus takes the whole house in one go, best dressed and unbothered about driving home.
Merseyrail from Ainsdale (a 20 minute walk from the house, or a quick bus, taxi or car journey) down the Southport line, one easy change onto the Ormskirk line, and Aintree station is directly opposite the racecourse entrance.
Extra services run on race days; expect them lively on the way home, which is half the fun.
Three race days, one house. Long breakfasts, a different hat each day, and the group back around your own bar by early evening for the replays.

Three days in April
Opening Day sets the standard with Grade 1 racing from the first gun. Friday is Ladies Day, Merseyside's most glamorous afternoon out. And then Saturday: forty runners, thirty fences, six hundred million people watching worldwide, and you in the crowd having had a proper night's sleep in a king-size bed twenty-five minutes away. Aintree is unforgettable; getting home afterwards should be effortless.

Aintree races through the year (jump meetings, raceday events and family fixtures), and Haydock Park is under an hour for flat and jumps alike.

Saturday 10 April 2027, with the festival running Thursday 8 to Saturday 10 April and Ladies Day on the Friday. The big race goes off around 4pm; gates open at 10am.

About 14 miles: 25 to 30 minutes by car, or around 50 minutes by Merseyrail with one change, arriving directly opposite the racecourse gates.
