Royal Lytham and St Annes, July 2028

The Open returns to the Lancashire coast

The Open goes back to Royal Lytham and St Annes in 2028 for the first time in sixteen years, and Warren House is an hour down the coast with room for fourteen. This is links country at its best: our own front door opens onto England's Golf Coast, where Royal Birkdale hosted the 2026 Open, and Lytham sits just across the Ribble. Play a different championship course every morning, watch the world's best in the afternoon, and come home to your own bar rather than a hotel one.

Getting there

An hour from the first tee

Royal Lytham and St Annes

1 hour

About thirty five miles by road, round the Ribble estuary by way of Preston. On championship days the park and ride schemes are the sensible option, and the drive back up the coast in the evening is a pleasure in itself.

Royal Birkdale

10 min

The 2026 Open venue is on our doorstep, along with Hillside and Southport and Ainsdale either side of it. If you want to play links golf in the mornings, you will not find a denser stretch of it anywhere in England.

Manchester and Liverpool airports

45 to 60 min

Liverpool John Lennon is about forty five minutes away and Manchester about an hour, so a group flying in from anywhere can be at the house and pouring a drink inside two hours of landing.

Make a golf week of it

England's Golf Coast, from your own front door

A championship week is the perfect excuse for the trip you have been meaning to organise for years. Royal Birkdale, Hillside, Southport and Ainsdale and Formby are all within a short drive, the boot room takes the shoes and the trolleys, and the drying space matters more on this coast than anyone likes to admit. Twelve sit round the dining table in comfort, the bar has a big screen for the afternoon's coverage, and the hot tub is there for legs that have walked seventy two holes.
